Mental Health Assessment

Carnation Psychology offers comprehensive mental health assessments for teens and adults in/around Centennial, CO. Diagnostic evaluations that clarify what's actually going on when anxiety, depression, mood concerns, trauma-related symptoms, or personality patterns don't fit neatly into one category, or when a prior diagnosis doesn't feel quite right..

A mental health assessment is the right starting point when the picture is layered rather than a single, obvious concern. For example, when anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and autism could all plausibly explain what you're experiencing, or when you've been given a diagnosis in the past that never quite fit. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, this assessment looks at the full clinical picture to reach an accurate diagnosis and a clear, individualized direction for treatment.

What this assessment covers:

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood-related concerns

  • Trauma and stressor-related presentations

  • Personality patterns and their impact on functioning

  • Differential diagnosis when symptoms overlap (e.g., distinguishing anxiety from ADHD, or depression from autistic burnout)

  • Level of impairment across daily functioning — work, school, and relationships

  • Clinical interview

  • IQ testing (optional)

  • Executive functioning testing (optional)

  • Adaptive functioning (optional)

  • Semi-structured diagnostic interviews covering specific symptoms

  • Self-report test(s) of personality/mental health

  • Symptom-specific tests (i.e. ADHD symptoms, social functioning, executive functioning, over-excitabilites) with collateral reports

  • If I have your permission, I’ll review available school, medical, and any mental health records that may help improve the accuracy of the report

  • If I have your permission, I’ll also talk with other important people as needed (therapists, doctors, close relatives, etc.)

  • A 1.5hr feedback session to review findings and recommendations

  • Copy of final report with all findings and recommendations
