I'm Dr. Annie Saurber, a licensed Psychologist in Colorado (PSY.00006899). I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University, and I've spent 8 working with high-achieving teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, autism, and ADHD. I’ve worked in many settings over the years which have given me a wide variety and breadth of experience including: inpatient psychiatric hospitals, step-down partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), substance use residential facilities, inpatient medical and ICU, solid organ transplant services, Veteran’s Affairs (VA) primary care, university disability services, and outpatient clinics.

Many of my clients are used to being the capable one, the one who holds it together, performs well, and takes care of everyone else. What often gets missed is why it takes so much more effort for them than it seems to for other people. Through my work, I’ve realized that gap is usually explained by something specific: unprocessed trauma, undiagnosed ADHD or autism, giftedness, a learning difference no one caught, or anxiety that's been quietly running in the background for years. My work is about finding that explanation and building a real plan around it.

My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based, and practical. I use CBT, ACT, CPT, aspects of DBT, and the Unified Protocol depending on what's most useful for a given client. I also conduct formal psychological assessments, including autism, ADHD, learning disability, giftedness, and broader diagnostic evaluations for teens and adults who want answers, not just a checklist.
